William Alexander
William Alexander studied theater and folklore at Oberlin College, which helped him create the spooky factor in his book Goblin Secrets. (Ages 8-12)

Mick Carlon’s children’s books Travels with Louis and Riding on Duke’s Train explore some great jazz music and musicians. (Ages 6 and up)

Nancy Carlson
Author and illustrator of over 60 picture books including bestseller I Like Me!, Nancy Carlson has published three books this year: T Is For Twin Cities, Henry and the Bully, and Zip It! (Ages 4-7)

Barbara DaCosta’s Nighttime Ninja (Little, Brown) was inspired by the author’s own precociousness as a child, constantly climbing out of the crib in search of cookies and other interesting things. (Ages 3-6)

Molly Beth Griffin is a graduate of Hamline University's MFA program in Writing for Children and Young Adults, and the author of the acclaimed picture book Loon Baby. (Ages 3-6)

Self-taught artist Samuel Hiti is the author of comic books, and has just published his debut picture book, Waga's Big Scare. (Ages 5-8)

Ryan Jacobson has written nearly 30 books, including comic books, ghost stories, and choose-your-path books, the latest of which feature Sherlock Holmes and Dracula! (Ages 8-12)

Tim Kehoe is the inventor of numerous toy products, including the world's first colored bubbles; Vincent Shadow: The Top Secret Toys is the latest book in his series about a young creative mastermind. (Ages 8-12)

Kevin Kling and Chris Monroe
Kevin Kling is a playwright and storyteller, and his commentaries can be heard on NPR’s All Things Considered; Chris Monroe is best known for her weekly comic strip Violet Days. Together the pair made the children's book Big Little Brother. (Ages 3-6)

David LaRochelle has been creating books for young people for the past two decades. He won a Minnesota Book Award in 2009 for The Best Pet of All, and his latest picture book is It’s a Tiger! (Ages 3-6)
